In short
Date Overnight is an adults-only site, run by Ambervine Inc, for meeting people when you're away from home. Joining, making a profile and browsing are free. Reading and replying to messages needs a paid membership that renews until you cancel in Settings > Billing. Profiles are shared with partner sites in the same network, and photos are reviewed.

A trip in five steps
Date Overnight works best if you set things up a few days before you travel, not in the hotel lobby. A typical trip looks like this:
- Join free with an email address, a password and your date of birth.
- Write a profile for the trip: the city, the dates, the area you'll be in and what kind of evening you'd like.
- Browse free to see who's around where you're going.
- Upgrade if there's someone to talk to, then read and reply to messages and agree a time and a busy place.
- Cancel in Settings > Billing when you get home, unless you travel often enough to keep a plan running.
Joining and setting up a profile
Joining takes an email address, a password and your date of birth. You must be 18 or over, or 21 in Alabama, Mississippi, Nebraska and Wyoming. Most profiles need at least one photo, and every photo is reviewed before it appears. The image rules don't allow nudity or lingerie, so pick something you'd be comfortable with a stranger seeing.
A profile lets you set your gender, sexuality, who you're looking for, an age range and distance, and details such as languages, smoking and drinking. For a trip, the free text matters most. An example of the kind of line that works:
In Manchester Monday to Wednesday for work, staying near the centre. Free Tuesday evening for a drink.
Use the area, not your hotel. The travel safety checklist explains why. Sign up with an email address you only use for dating, and keep your employer and surname off the profile.
What's free and what isn't
Free membership is enough to judge whether the site is useful for your trip. A paid membership is what lets you hold a conversation.
| Feature | Free | Paid membership |
|---|---|---|
| Join and make a profile | Yes | Yes |
| Browse profiles | Yes | Yes |
| Read and reply to messages | No | Yes |
| See who viewed you, see likes | No | Yes |
| View photos in full | No | Yes |
Free members see adverts. Prices and plan lengths are on the prices page, and the members area shows the exact price before you pay. Optional extras, such as profile boosts and an ID-verified badge, are sold separately.
The partner network
Date Overnight shares one member database with partner sites in the same network. Members of those sites can see your profile and message you, and you can see and message them. Profiles show which site each person joined through. In most cities you visit, more of the people you see will have joined elsewhere than through Date Overnight.
What is and isn't checked
Photos are reviewed. What people write about themselves is not checked, so treat ages, jobs and "just in town for the night" stories as claims, not facts. An optional ID-verified badge, issued after an ID and selfie check by LEM Verify, tells you a person matches their ID; it doesn't tell you how they'll behave. Our safety page covers scams and how to report a profile.
Cancelling and leaving
Memberships renew automatically until you cancel in Settings > Billing. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it doesn't delete your profile. To remove your account, go to your avatar > Settings > Delete Account. If you're only joining for one trip, put a reminder in your phone for the day you fly home.
Charges may not appear on your statement as "Date Overnight", so make a note of the billing name shown at checkout before you pay. For anything else, the contact page explains where to get help, and Date Overnight at a glance has every key fact in one table.
Questions people ask
Can people on other sites see my profile?
Yes. Date Overnight shares one member database with partner sites in the same network, so their members can see your profile and message you, and you can see theirs. Each profile shows which site the person joined through. Write yours with that wider audience in mind.
Do I have to pay to read a message someone sent me?
Yes. Reading messages and replying to them are part of a paid membership. You can still join, build a profile and browse without paying, which is a sensible way to check who is around in the city you're visiting first.
Does cancelling my plan delete my profile?
No. Cancelling in Settings > Billing stops the next renewal of your membership. Your profile stays visible until you remove it yourself through avatar > Settings > Delete Account. If you only joined for one trip and don't plan another, it's worth doing both.
Which countries can I use Date Overnight in?
As of 17 October 2026 the network accepts sign-ups from the US, Canada, the UK, Ireland, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man, Australia, New Zealand, Portugal and South Africa. You can travel anywhere, but outside those countries expect few members or none nearby.
Is an ID-verified badge worth it?
It's optional. The badge shows that you matched your own photo ID in an ID and selfie check by LEM Verify, which some members like to see. It says nothing about anyone's intentions, so the same first-meeting habits apply with or without one.
