How the network works
Date Overnight shares one member database with partner sites in the same network. Members of those sites can see your profile and message you, and you can see theirs; profiles show which site each person joined through. For travellers, that's what puts people on the map in the city you're visiting. It's also why we suggest keeping your surname, employer and hotel off your profile. How we write our guides
The guides on this site are written by the Date Overnight editorial team and follow a few rules:
- Facts about the service come from the members area and are kept to what it actually does. Where something isn't checked, such as what members write about themselves, we say so.
- We don't type prices into articles. The price table comes from one place that's kept up to date, and the members area shows the exact price before you pay.
- Outside facts link to the primary source, such as a government travel-advice page, a fraud-reporting body or an official helpline, and each page shows the date it was last updated.
- No invented people. We don't publish testimonials, success stories, member numbers or quotes from members. Any example profile or message is labelled as an example.
- Safety comes before sales. The guides tell you when not to meet, when to leave and where to report problems, whether or not that leads to a membership.
- Adults only, consent first. We don't write graphic content, and nothing on the site suggests anyone is owed anything.
